A little pricey but good food and ice cream.

This place is always great. I'm glad they have a drive up take out available. Only trouble I had on this visit was I ordered an ice cream soda made with sherbert & Sprite to go. Ended up with vanilla ice cream & Sprite. I still would recommend this place though. Staff VERY helpful. Ice cream creations always wonderful. Would have been 5 stars except for order mix up.

Honestly not much to complain about. Quick and kind customer service. Felt kind of pressed to get us out and didn't ask if we wanted anything else. Short and sweet. Great place to gather and have conversations and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The ice cream portions are hefty but fulfilling. Worth keeping in business.

I have never found an ice cream place to rival Leatherbys. When I visit my mountain home this place is a must on my priority list. Homemade ice cream and whipping cream, oh yeah....it's amazing and I feel like a better person after I eat there. I'm pretty sure it gives me superpowers. Tracy's Peanut butter cup is my ice cream mistress. My wife literally gets jealous of the ice cream dish when I eat it. 😍

The food is good but the ice-cream concoctions are like your in heaven. The best, hands down.

They have Fantastic icecream. The peanut butter cookie dough, chocolate peanut butter, and cookies and cream are my fav flavors. Tracy's peanut butter cup is the best sundae imo and one not to miss. You can tell i have a thing for chocolate and peanut butter.... lol

Chocolate malt shake. They only get 3 stars for not offering a dairy free milk alternative for their milk shakes. Still delicious though. Dining in is open. Open till 11pm.

Leatherby’s! What can I say. You go here for the ice cream and stay for the company. I’ve been here several times and I haven’t been a huge fan of their food except the burgers and cheese fries. Many of the people I have been with really enjoy the food. My go-to dessert is Traci’s peanut butter cup with extra peanut butter and chocolate, but once in a while I have to get Gretchen’s golden nugget. My two boys can share Connor’s banana split and still have ice cream left over. There’s a nuke box that is fun for the kids and of course it is very family friendly. It’s pretty popular so you will want to go early because often times on the weekend or after a football game there is a long line.

Did was okay, ice cream was edible, staff was finally and great but it server was super weird.

There really is nothing bad to say about this place. Great hamburgers, sandwiches, chicken tenders, fries, fry sauce, and ice cream! Yes, their ice cream portions are huge! Great selection of ice cream, although I usually choose from the kid's menu after my entree, because even the kid's size is fairly large. As a side note, there is usually a wait here, unless you go early or late for dinner. The parking is free and the restrooms are nice.

Took the family for a granddaughters birthday and waited 15 minutes to be seated. Not bad for a busy evening for Leatherbys.I ordered Chicken Strips and got all 3 sauces. My favorite was the BBQ and the Honey Mustard. Hey, I like sauces.My wife, Jeni, ordered a Sundae in a glass and changed the I e cream to Peanut Butter Cup and Chocolate with Chocolate Sauce on top. Gooey delicious!!!Thanks Leatherbys for a great night and singing to our granddaughter a Happy Birthday!!!

Even with everything that's going on in the world these people took very very good care of us. They practice social distancing and the food was wonderful. And the ice cream always top notch!

I’ve been coming here with my family since I was a little kid to celebrate this and that. As long as I can remember, Leatherby’s and its ice cream have stayed consistently wonderful. Always delicious, always clean, and the staff is always friendly and fast. Can’t say enough good things about this place. I’ll be a customer for life!

Excellent food, we’ve been coming here for years. It’s always packed! Great burgers, my wife always gets the grown up grilled cheese. I love the French dip. Even more since it seems like they’ve changed it recently.

Has the world's best caramel sauce. I love the sundaes with toasted almond ice cream finished off with almonds, whipped cream and cherry. The waiters are nice and friendly. The cheeseburgers and cheese fries are good too. I highly recommend for Utah ice cream parlors.

Love this place, it has and will always be a family favorite. Lastnight was the best service we've ever recieved. My family and I came in at the last minute. She got our orders down to the T and was always attentive in making sure our waters stayed full and everything was good. Felicity, you were so good to us! Thank you for your 5 star service. The food was really tasty, the house ranch paired excellently with their fries and the pastrami burger was a real standout option. The Banana Split was more of an ice cream mountain, but it was also quite tasty.

Raul’s Apple Pie parfait may be THE best parfait in the United States. Substitute the vanilla ice cream with horchata ice cream for sure. Get a side of fries and fry sauce to even add more to this glutinous paradise. Leatherby’s is such a great place for ice cream. The food is your normal old fashion diner fair, but still very good.

Delicious ice cream and surprisingly good entrees. We often come here for lunch and I particularly like the jalapeno burger. All of the flavors of ice cream remind me of when I used to work at Boggs Ice Cream in Downers Grove as a teen where we made our own ice cream in house.The toppings are all delicious and unique but the caramel is their home run. My wife and I love the apple pie sundae, which has an actual slice of spiced apple pie in it. I don't even really like apples! If nothing else, try a Hamilton's sundae with extra caramel - you won't be disappointed.

Even before the COVID-19 Pandemic, Leatherby's is truly the best place to get ice cream! They have a wide variety of options to choose from, including Chocolate, Vanilla, Mint Chocolate Chip, Rocky Road, and so many more options! Not a fan of ice cream? No problem! They also have some amazing sandwiches, fries, and a newer category, burgers! Maybe the reason I say this is the best place is because I've never been to Cold Stone Creamery at the time I wrote this review, but I've heard countless times that it was too expensive! Not Leatherby's. The last time I went there, it only cost around $25 for two people! Overall, Leatherby's has the best-tasting ice cream for the most reasonable prices in the state!

Daddy Doug's Banana Split. Need I say more? I can't recommend Leatherby's enough. There is always a crowd and there's a reason for it. The ice cream is amazing both in quality and in quantity. The aforementioned banana split is HUGE! Come out and beat my record of 10 minutes to finish it. Heh

I believe they have several locations, but as far as ice cream goes, this was worth the visit. The sundaes and various other concoctions are excellent with a large variety. The ice cream itself was creamy and delicious. The service was quick, however we only ordered ice cream, but it was petty busy, so very happy overall. Can't wait to visit again!

Service is great. They saw us standing outside and they asked us if we wanted to wait for the rest of our group inside rather than out in the heat. While seated, they were quick and attentive and got our food bonus very quickly.

The food is just okay but the fries are great. We used to get meals and ice cream but that's way too much food so now we get ice cream and fries to share. The ice cream is good but the sauces are what make everything so delicious. The caramel tastes homemade and the hot fudge is out of this world. We often buy a jar to take home since we don't live nearby. The sundae with hot fudge and peanut butter sauce is my favorite.

Leatherby's has been a long time multi generational favorite of my family. It is a fabulous atmosphere, great food and even better ice cream. Their hot fudge is the best I have tasted and you can even purchase the got fudge in jars from their. Great place and worth going to over and over again.

Decent food but amazing ice cream. The quantities are definitely huge. The atmosphere resembles a large older style ice cream parlor and the informs match. We only had some fries but they were well done and were served with my wife’s favorite condiment fry sauce.

I went in with my friend to get ice cream shakes and got a plain vanilla one. By the time we drove off and I tried it I noticed there was peanut butter on the sides and a little in the cup, which sucks because i’m deathly allergic to it. Had to throw it away and my money was wasted.

This is a classic ice cream spot for the locals, especially if you grew up here in the Salt Lake Valley. I chose my go to Banana Split. Be aware there are like 3, maybe more, variations of it on the menu. I always get extra strawberries and pineapple topping. I love this place, the staff are always friendly. This location is always packed and you can expect to wait in line in the evenings, but fear not there is also a location in downtown salt lake off of North Temple, that I also love going to. On a side note, I love their chicken tenders.

Ice cream for lunch? Snack? Or a quick pick me up? Yesss this is the place! The choices you have in creamy treat is bountyful and they are all delish! Leave your calorie counters at the door and enjoy!The waiter was quick to table but patient as we had to absorb the menu and checked back several times to make sure we're happy. Can't say anything about the food - yes they serve food as well as we did not order any.

This place has been my go to for a pick me up after a rough week for so long! Love the Alan's Black and Tan icecream!🤤

I love leatherbys but this location isn't great. I prefer the location on 12300 south. I came here to get ice cream for take out today and it was so frustrating. I couldn't understand any of the kids working the counter. They talked so quietly i could barely hear them and they seemed to act like they couldn't hear me. I waited 15 minutes for 3 scoops of ice cream. They got two ready and i was waiting for them to get the last one ready and they were just walking around almost like they were avoiding finishing my order. I actually had to yell at them from behind the counter to remind them to get my last scoop.. it was super annoying. I'll stick with the other location.

Jake's a very thoughtful and attentive server. Every employee was well-groomed and immaculate in appearance. You would've thought this was a modeling agency!The place was clean and very classy with a vintage 1950's feel. The ice cream dishes are out of this world! You would definitely feel comfortable taking the whole family there.

I've been going there since I was a kid and their quality hasn't changed. It's always so delicious!

The service was good. The food was good diner food (it wasn't amazing but not terrible), but the icecream... So yummy. All the different flavors. The worst part was choosing which ones!

It was awesome as always. Love it here. Gotta bring my 11 grandchildren there for icecream one day. I brought my sister there yesterday to celebrate her rank advancement.

Leatherby's Family Creamery have REALLY good ice cream & great service. My husband & I will definitely will be going back. They said they are planning on getting a location up North, which would be nice because we drove about 45minutes to get to the Taylorsville location. But is was so worth it.Mine - Gretchen's Golden Nugget (Pralines & caramel ice cream nestled in a freshly-baked waffle bowl, smothered with caramel sauce. Topped pralines, whipped cream, cinnamon & a cherry.)My husband's - Caramel Cinnamon Twist (Fresh churro, horchata ice cream & Leatherby's homemade caramel.

We love coming here for the ice cream. Black and tan and Tracy's peanut butter cup are our standard flavors. We always receive kind service and delicious ice cream creations. I would recommend this place to anybody and everybody.
